On March 3, 2011, around 200 attendees descended upon The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead for the Second Annual Bully Ball to help raise over $50,000 for neglected English Bulldogs in the southeast. This fabulous event featured a delicious seated dinner of Filet Mignon while Jenny Blaske provided the piano music. The dinner wine as generously donated by Georgia Crown. The dinner was followed by several live auction items which included Paula Deen's summer beach house on Tybee Island and the bronze replica of Uga created by the talented and well known artist, Wesley Wofford. This stunning piece of art was sold to Bill and Susan Fralic of Atlanta for $10,500. After dinner, guests mingled among the unique silent auction items while enjoying the jazz trio, The Tom Olsen Trio. Royal Canin Pet Nutrition sponsored an elegant wine tasting that was managed by The Atlanta Wine School. Photographs of the event was graciously donated by Urban Roots.
This year, Kevin Butler, former UGA/Chicago Bears Placekicker, served as Honorary Chair. Thank you, Kevin, for coming to our event to show your support for neglected bulldogs! Many former sports players attended the event to show support and help raise money for bulldogs in need. Once again, the regal Citadel Bulldog Mascot, General, attended the event to show his support for his fellow bulldogs in need. As always, General had a good time and was the perfect gentleman! Thank you, The Citadel, for allowing General to attend. Thank you, Host Committee, for lending your name, time, and resources for our event, and thank you to all who donated items, time, and resources to help us reach our goal of $50,000! Proceeds help cover the rising vet bills that rescues incur when a poorly neglected bulldog enters their care. Because of The Bully Ball, many neglected bulldogs will get a second chance at life! Thank you to all who attended this special event.
